9x12 Oil on Brown Walnut
This painted bunting was photographed at Botany Bay on Edisto Island SC. Painted buntings are found on Southeastern coast of the US.  Like many male birds, the male is the most beautiful of the pair and Mr. Painted Bunting maintains his bright colors year round, while his mate displays more green and light colors.  His song is a rapid series of varied tunes.
