6x10 Oil on Brown Walnut
Not purple, but a rose red covers most of this bird's body and except the white in his undercovering. The rose color is acquired in the second fall of his life. He is common in coniferous and mixed woodland forests, in shrubs and in parks. They certainly flock to feeders where they enjoy a variety of seeds and millet. It's almost "come one, come all."
