8x12 Oil on Spalted Maple
 
Although a resident in northern conifers, this sprightly little bird has migrated south. Often he is seen "upside down" with his black cap and eye line, white eyebrow and rust colored unerparts.  He has a high-pitche , nasal call that sould like a toy tin horn.
